In my Colorado mountain home, I draw much inspiration from the rivers and streams that I drive and hike near on a regular basis. The inspiration for this piece, originally created in black and white, sparked from the mid-winter appearance of rivers that would be mostly covered in ice and snow with small portals where one could see the water flowing. It is another piece that took several years to move from seeing the inspiration, winter after winter, of the ice-covered river, into finally evolving into a design that seemed to convey that inspiration.
