I count myself as very fortunate to have spent the last 15 years in a place that, while winters are LONG, has (most years) four fairly distinct seasons. Sometimes they overlap, or get mixed up in order… it is Colorado, after all. But having grown up on the plains (few trees, and often an early frost would turn leaves brown and they would blow away, leaving us empty trees through an Indian summer,) I thoroughly enjoy the changing of the leaves in the fall, and I try to appreciate each step in the cycle of life that I get to witness over the course of a year.
